Municipal Court Warrants in Wilson County
Wilson County municipal courts handle city ordinance, Class C, and traffic matters. A city judge can issue arrest process or a capias pro fine after a court obligation is missed or a judgment remains unsatisfied. That city docket is distinct from a Wilson County JP or district-court case.
A county clerk search or sheriff contact may not show every city record. The city court controls the citation, fine, appearance, and recall entry; police or the sheriff may hold a separate service record. Start with the court caption rather than a general county search.
Floresville Wilson County Warrant Questions Start at City Court
Floresville's official court page gives the richest local process detail. The Municipal Court at 1120 D Street handles city Class C, traffic, and ordinance cases and expressly lists arrest warrants and capias pro fine among its functions. It links a Tyler Municipal Online Payments portal and publishes pay, plea, reset, time-payment, and compliance forms.
For active warrant or capias status, call the court clerk rather than assuming the portal is a complete roster. The court says a telephone call is not an appearance, and attorneys must provide a letter of representation before case information is released. Police records route separately through the Floresville PD at 920 C Street.
The official Floresville Municipal Court page explains the city's process.

A payment screen can identify a case, but the clerk confirms the court's current warrant status.
Which Wilson County Cities Have Municipal Courts
The researched city profiles document five local municipal-court routes. A separate JP court can serve a nearby area, so the ticket caption decides which office controls. Matters outside a city's municipal docket may belong to one of the four Justice of the Peace precincts.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| Floresville | Floresville Municipal Court | Class C, traffic, ordinances, arrest warrants, and capias pro fine |
| Nixon | Nixon Municipal Court | City Class C, traffic, and ordinance cases; clerk status route |
| Poth | Poth Municipal Court | City citations with online, mail, or in-person instructions |
| Stockdale | Stockdale Municipal Court | City matters; City Hall clerk contact, no portal located |
| La Vernia | La Vernia Municipal Court | City Class C and ordinances; clerk, monthly judge session, payment link |
Wilson County JP Courts Are Separate From Poth and La Vernia City Courts
Poth has two distinct lower-court counters: JP2 at 121 Dilworth Plaza and the Poth Municipal Court at 200 N. Carroll. La Vernia also has JP3 at 402 Bluebonnet/FM 775 and a city municipal court at City Hall. Shared town names do not merge the dockets, payment systems, or judges.
Use the citation's court name and precinct before choosing a portal. If the clerk says the record moved, ask for the destination court and transfer date. This distinction matters for a capias pro fine because the court that entered the judgment controls the resolution path.
The county's JP2 contact page illustrates the separate precinct route for a Poth-area case.

The case caption, not the city's name alone, identifies the right clerk.
Floresville Municipal Court Calls Are Not Appearances
Floresville's court says a telephone call is not an appearance and requires an attorney's letter of representation before releasing case information to counsel. A phone conversation can explain which form or date applies, but it cannot replace a filing, hearing, or judge-approved reset. This policy is specific to Floresville Municipal Court; ask another city clerk about that court's own requirements.
How to Check a Wilson County Municipal Court Warrant
Use the city portal if that court publishes one, then call the municipal clerk to confirm whether a separate warrant or capias exists. Floresville links Tyler and La Vernia links Certified Payments, but neither page provides a public roster. Nixon, Poth, and Stockdale rely on clerk contact or written directions.
- Read the court name and citation or cause number from the ticket.
- Use the official city portal where one is linked; dynamic fields may differ.
- Call or email the city clerk and ask for the current warrant, FTA, or capias status.
- For an agency service or police-record question, contact that city's police records route separately.
- Visit only after confirming the clerk's current hours and whether the court requires an appearance.
Wilson County Municipal Warrant Portals Have Uneven Coverage
Floresville and La Vernia publish payment entry points, but their dynamic screens do not expose every search field in static public pages. Poth's written fine and plea sheet gives payment and hearing options but says a hearing is not scheduled by phone. Nixon links a municipal-court website without a public warrant roster. Stockdale publishes named court staff but no search or vendor was located.
These differences are useful routing facts, not proof that a city has no warrant process. The court clerk can tell whether a record is a ticket, FTA, arrest warrant, or capias pro fine and whether a judge date remains. Keep the cause and citation numbers together.
For time-sensitive payment or appearance, ask for written instructions and the exact record status.
What a Wilson County Municipal Court Warrant Shows
The city sources do not publish a shared municipal-warrant schema or control-number format. Ask the clerk to identify each number and status, especially where an original citation, later FTA entry, and judgment have separate records.
| Warrant / cause number | No common city format was located; CAUSE NO. is a court field label, not a sample number. |
|---|---|
| Charge / reason | City ordinance, traffic, Class C, FTA, or judgment label as recorded by the court. |
| Issuing court | Name the municipal court; nearby JP records are separate. |
| Bond / fine amount | Case-specific; ask the clerk whether the sum is a fine, court cost, or bond. |
| Status | Confirm issued, active, recalled, paid, or set for hearing and the date of action. |
La Vernia's Wilson County City Warrant Notice Has Expired
La Vernia's homepage announced a warrant-fee waiver for city warrants during September 11–17, 2026. The advertised period ended before the September 20 research date. It was a city municipal-court notice, not a waiver for JP3, another municipality, or county cases. The page did not define every eligible cost or appearance requirement.
Call the city clerk about future events and ask whether a waiver covers only a warrant fee or also the underlying citation. La Vernia lists a monthly judge session; a payment or clerk transaction does not prove that no appearance remains.
The official city notice is shown below as a dated record of the program.

Wilson County Municipal Court Warrant Resolution Steps
Only the issuing city court can explain which current disposition will recall its process. Floresville publishes several forms and payment options; La Vernia gives a clerk route and Certified Payments; Poth provides online, mail, and in-person instructions; Nixon and Stockdale require a direct clerk inquiry in the reviewed sources.
- Give the clerk the citation, cause number, and city court caption.
- Ask whether payment, a plea, reset, personal appearance, bond, or hardship process applies.
- Follow the court's instructions and keep a receipt or filed form.
- Request written confirmation of recall and ask whether another setting or judgment remains.
Warning: A city payment portal may show a balance without confirming recall; ask the municipal clerk whether the warrant and underlying case are both resolved.
For a traffic citation, the traffic warrant steps explain the separate DPS/OmniBase reporting path.
